To us there is nothing more exciting and rewarding than the creative destruction brought about by the adoption of new technologies. The role of technology is becoming an ever more powerful force in more important industries like energy and healthcare. It won’t be long before our notions of what is real and what is virtual blur to the point where profound things become possible and change our day-to-day lives in ways that we don’t fully grasp.
Although we are looking at some fairly esoteric technologies and taking a long-term view, we are focused on stocks and investments. These shifts create major winners and losers. Clearly Apple and Google are creating more economic value today than music publishers and newspapers. We are only at the very very beginning of an era that we expect to bring an increasing velocity of technology change that spreads across more and more industries and touch points.
We make our research work available through Research 2.0 and work closely with a small number of clients as a virtual extension of their research and investment management team.
